Investigation of Aflatoxin M1 Residue in Raw Cow Milk Samples in Burdur

This study was implemented to research the aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) level due economic losses and public health concerns resulting from presence of in food. A total 82 raw cow milk samples were randomly obtained dairy farms Burdur they examined terms AFM1 using Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) method. It found that between 5.06 50.63 ng kg-1 48 (58.5%) analysed average contamination rate 15.53 ±10.35 kg-1. In 1 (1.2%) samples, be over legal limits specified by Turkish Food Codex European Union’s Regulation. As a result, determined below maximum residue suitable for human consumption. addition, estimated daily intake (EDI) adult consumer Turkey. The EDI (0.19 body weight day-1) close proposed value tolerable (0.2 day-1 ) AFM1. However, it is recommended repeat studies on this subject within regular program inform both producers consumers about issue.
